Monday O’ Monday
Monday, oh Monday! You bring cheer to some and despair to others…
Gloom looms on every face with the dusk of every Sunday evening. Every heart laments of the joyful weekend slowly departing. Friends just wish the weekend had been a little longer. Lovers rue the most beautiful moment of bliss is helplessly slipping away from their hands. Students feel the books just got heavier. Homework would be left undone if not for the fear of their monstrous professor. Class tests if any? Yes, this becomes one obligation to do some studies however, the drowsy eyes due to day’s tiredness only dream of possible postponement. Going twelve hours behind the clock the entire nation had just Thanked God It’s Sunday, in the morning. Having had a rich continental breakfast, Life saw itself briskly engrossed in various activities. Post twelve one begins to laze about. And then the afternoon is just heavy on our shoulders.
Students and professionals alike wistfully go to bed bearing an apprehension that the next morning would be Monday. Oh! Monday, why do you bother us so much? Why do you make us fret about your dawn? Why are most heart-attacks reported on Monday? Don’t you have anything pleasant for your people? One awaits Friday! Why not Monday morning? On Monday everything is heavy and is lightened with the coming of Friday.
I’m sure everyone must have felt over the moon when you got the letter of appointment to join work and probably may have promised to throw a party at the table after the first pay. Then why not jump back to office on Monday with that same enthusiasm now? Problem is that it wasn’t the job you leapt for. Rather a change in life’s routine caused all the excitement. Yes, and hey! It is this change that brings the entire thrill. Like most of you, I cried on the first day of my school and found every reason to be ill on Mondays. College was envisaged to be a happening phase of student life but beauty comes only if you happened...
I do not despise Monday. No! Not a bit. It is nothing in a day whether to love it or hate it. It simply means that we haven’t been able to discover real joy at work. Students haven’t found true learning. Friends haven’t found a friend at work wherewithal they be driven to office. Workplace has to be enjoyable. Love your work. Have fun at work. If possible, have everything at work because you are working for everything. You deserve to get everything you need as you’ve given your whole lot. Schools and colleges need to be interesting filled with learning. Learning phase is the most important part of life where you are being prepared for a world to come. Parents would make their greatest mistake if they neglected their child and deprived him of his education at the right time. Time is short… At work, we need The One Minute Managers to give us a pat. Pupils need a friend to learn from and not a monster. We need a mentor, not a tormentor. Friends need to find friends… Ladies and gentlemen, build affinity towards your surrounding for adaptability is said to be man’s greatest quality!
