Here’s COVID19! What now. What next?

A series of lockdown on the pretext

Of subduing the spread, contingent plans,

Dogged attempts to ward off its advance

Months, weeks, days, gone counting

Difficulties and debts keep mounting

Panic and puzzlement on the rise

Might still linger around, I surmise

But how long are we to live in terror?

Let’s get out and fight the virus

I heard hot water and salt does the trick

Like unprecedented ginger and garlic

Hey, mutant virus, global disaster!

Soon your tactics we will master

Someone said, ‘’learn to live with it’’

Well, not easy if you carefully read it

But yes! Nothing is impossible,

Pray one day effects may be stable

Beseech we develop invulnerability,

And no longer be a subject of frailty

Why is there so much suffering?

Terror, floods, tremor, now COVID 19

Will this flare up or will this restrain?

Will it fade away, and appear again!

Wait! How about a time to re-skill?

Of course! This sounds better as a thrill

Create cushy jobs as you kill boredom

Dream big and expand your horizon

Deals dawdling, core jobs laid off

Funds ever dwindling, trade put-off

Did anyone dream what might befall?

We’re mortal, finite beings after all

Our best of the best has failed the test

Sending rays of emotion and unrest

But amid obscurity there’s still hope

Through adversity, we still will cope

We look back to the stories of the old

Promises in the scriptures we’re told

As Moses lead the Israelites to stand

Sheltered by the blood of the Lamb

Smeared on doorposts, I ponder

For us today, it can still do wonder
