Poetry - Dear Mother
"Dear Mother"
Why, dear Mother, why
do we have your children
fighting for power?
Many have even cried
Not wanting to be under
the reins of a dictator.
Is the will to ply
whether good or bad
not an onus of ours?
Let me then try
To keep myself from others
a li'l bit lower!
Why, dear Mother, why
is our nation so strong,
divided against it's own?
Many laid down their lives
but I still wonder where
those sacrifices have gone?
Shouldn't we work as a hive
under one royal banner and
together sing a victory song?
Let me then try
to be your true lover, and
sing to you that victory tune!
Why, dear Mother, why
don't ya children realise
their core responsibilities
Excercising their desires
they gain not a slice;
only build fake beliefs!
Castles in the skies
they make and break;
And passing by, lisp
"there, there!"
Let me then try
kick up my heels, and
For you, dear Mother,
be a blessing in disguise!
